Elected steering committee members will now carry over as long as the member is willing to serve. If any member elects not to continue, we will contact points members from the previous season in order of position starting with first place.

01/22/15:::::::Get Ready for Another Revved-up, High Performance Season In Hubble Motorsports Junior Dragster

Maryland Int’l Raceway has one of the best weekly Junior Dragster programs in the country; with some of the greatest junior racers and families. Ron Hubble of Hubble Motorsports has continued his incredible support for the Junior Dragster program for 2015.

01/22/15:::::::Get Ready for Another Revved-up, High Performance Season In Hubble Motorsports Junior Dragster

Maryland Int’l Raceway has one of the best weekly Junior Dragster programs in the country; with some of the greatest junior racers and families. Ron Hubble of Hubble Motorsports has continued his incredible support for the Junior Dragster program for 2015. Each weekly Junior Dragster winner is awarded $100 cash plus a trophy, the runner-up is awarded $50 cash plus a trophy and each semi-finalist will receive $25 cash.

01/13/15:::::::Important Racer Notes For the 2015 Season

MDIR will return to a traditional points system with one accumulative total for the season. Most Top & Mod ET points races will be on the 1/8 mile. However, the 1/4 mile points races including Mountain Motor Nationals, Jet Wars and SuperChargers Showdown will still count toward the one season points total.

01/12/15:::::::Reserved Pit Parking Update for the 2015 Season

Reserved pit parking spots are now available for the 2015 Speed Unlimited E.T. Series. All spot holders from the 2014 season will have until March 1, 2015 to renew. If you are interested in a pit parking spot or would like additional information about the program, please call the track office at 301-884-9833.

01/09/15:::::::Top & Mod ET To Run 1/8 Mile on Weekly Events and 1/4 Mile on Special Events

For 2015, all of the weekly Speed Unlimited ET Series events for Top & Mod ET will be run on the 1/8 mile. Top & Mod ET will remain on the 1/4 mile at the feature shows like the Mountain Motor Nationals, Jet Wars, SuperChargers Showdown, Legends of Budds Creek, Ford Fever Classic and Mopar events. The gambler's races at all Test & Tunes will remain on the 1/4 mile (unless specifically promoted as an 1/8 mile event). Motorcycle will be run on the 1/4 mile at all events.

01/09/15:::::::$5,000 to Win in Top ET on Fri & Sat at Both the Mountain Motor Nationals and SuperChargers Showdown

Attention all Top ET drivers, mark your calendars for two awesome weekends, the Mountain Motor Nationals on Friday & Saturday, May 8-9 and the Superchargers Showdown on Friday & Saturday, September 25-26. These events will feature a huge $5,000 to win payout each day! Purses on these races also include round money at $100 per round starting with 2nd round winners. These two events are the only 1/4 mile Top ET High Roller races for the 2015 season.  On Friday, we will run Top ET (only) along with the Pros - points will not be in effect.

01/09/15:::::::MDIR Team Roster for the 2015 IHRA Division 1 Summit Team Finals at Piedmont Dragway

The Summit Team Finals will be held at Piedmont Dragway on Friday – Sunday, October 2-4, 2015. Full details for this event will be posted on the website as the Team Finals draws closer. Please note that the last day to qualify for the Team Finals and Sumit Super Series for Top, Mod and Junior Dragster will be Sunday, September 13, 2015.

Speed Unlimited Performance Center (located in Morningside, MD) continues their incredible support again in 2015 by funding the $10,000 E.T. Series points fund! Speed Unlimited has gone above and beyond the call of duty by continuing to support the MDIR racers for over 20 years straight. MDIR’s weekly purse payout in the Speed Unlimited ET Series features $2,000 to win in Top ET (with $50 round money), $1,000 to win in Mod ET (with $30 round money), plus GUARANTEED second round winner money in both Top & Mod ET (with minimum of 7-round race). The ET racer has been an important part to the success of MDIR and will always remain vital to its future. 01/09/15:::::::Raider ET Challenge Series Celebrates 12th Year

The 12th annual Raider ET Challenge returns in 2015 as the most successful and prestigious ET series in the region. Plenty of cash, prizes and awards await the points champion in Top ET, Mod ET and Junior Dragster in this 8-race, all 1/8 mile series between Maryland Int’l Raceway, Virginia Motorsports Park and Richmond Dragway. MDIR, VMP and RD are proud to offer this exciting 1/8 mile series, and an additional $5,000 has once again been committed to the points fund to pay back under the champions.

01/08/15:::::::The Speed Unlimited ET Series Championship will return to a Season Long Points System

For 2015, MDIR will return to a traditional season long points system. Royce Miller, COO of IRG Sports + Entertainment stated, “While I really liked the Dash Playoffs for the track championships, it is a more complicated system. Many of the racers that chase the points prefer the one cumulative points program. So we have decided to go back to a traditional points system with the championships going to the best man/woman that wins the most rounds during the entire season.”

01/05/15:::::::Don’t Miss the PARTY of the Year!! In Honor of YOU… the MDIR Racers and Fans!

It’s time once again to give award and tribute to our respective champions - and have some fun at the same time. The MDIR Racer’s Party and Awards Ceremony is coming on Saturday, February 21, 2015 and will kick off at 7:00 pm at the Waldorf Jaycees Hall. It is a great night of fun and games in addition to honoring our champions. The cost of the meals have increased each year for the last several years and we have held ticket prices down by having the racers fund subsidize the difference. Currently each meal costs approximately $38 (with all costs in). This year, tickets will remain $30 each if you purchase in advance and will be $40 at the door.

01/05/15:::::::Rick’s Jewelers “Ring for the Queen” Celebrates 11th Year at MDIR

Rick Norris of Rick’s Jewelers has renewed the “Ring for the Queen” Challenge for 2015 to make it 11 years strong. This is one of the most unique and innovative programs ever held for the ET Racers at MDIR. A certified full one-carat ladies diamond solitaire ring (with a retail value of $9,600) is once again up for grabs in the Speed Unlimited ET Series – which is open for any racer to win in Top, Mod, Junior or Motorcycle. The challenge requires 6 Diamond Points to win.
