High profile grudge racers from up and down the east coast will take their shot at fame at the Call Out at the Creek. Also, the wild Pro Outlaw Door Slammers will do a heads-up battle with their own special brand of “Horsepower with an Attitude” racing.

The IHRA Summit Super Series remains one of the most prestigious and financially rewarding programs available to the ET racer. This is your ticket to qualify for the Summit World Championship with over $200,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs! Registration is FREE if you're an IHRA member, and non-members can purchase a special SSS membership for just $50. When you register, you will be issued a four digit file number (the second digit will contain the letter "X") that will be associated with your membership.

The Speed Unlimited Midnight Madness Series kicks off Friday night April 2nd for another great season of weekly competition (open exclusively to the street car enthusiast). Although this year, there's a new alignment of feature classes. On the first Friday night of the month, the new Crazy 8’s Street Bike class will be contested. This class is a 5 tenths pro tree on an 8.88 index for Street Bikes only. The second Friday of the month will be the awesome Heads-Up Outlaw Drag Radial class (formerly named Real Street).

Maryland Int’l Raceway has one of the best weekly Junior Dragster programs in the country; with some of the greatest junior racers and families! Everyone has been very pleased with the weekly schedule, so we plan to run the same for the 2010 season. Junior Dragster and any early Test & Tune cars will start off the day with time trials beginning at 2:00 pm. Junior Dragster eliminations will follow at 3:30 pm. There will be two rounds of Juniors before we start time runs for all other ET classes at 4:30 pm.

The Speed Unlimited ET Series at Maryland Int'l Raceway is one of the best ET programs in the country featuring great programs like the Rick Jewelers Ring for the Queen, Summit Super Series, Computech Raider ET Challenge, Pick Royce’s Pocket, Ironman Classic and much more. These exciting programs only enhance an already great weekly program; but for 2010 we've added even more!

Voting to elect steering committee members for the Speed Unlimited E.T. Series is now complete. Committee members are chosen by the racers in their respective class. They are here to help with any issues regarding rules and procedures, to assist in arbitration of any racer disputes, answer questions of new racers and to oversee the staffing of 50/50 sellers at all points events.

The ever-popular team format plus the addition of a dedicated Friday at the Junior Dragster Team Finals has quickly given it the reputation as one of the best all Junior races in the country! This is a "must attend" event that's loaded with plenty of fun for Juniors of all ages; an event that's equally enjoyed by the families and friends that join them too. Each year the Miller family and staff at MIR look forward to this race just as much.

The IHRA Summit Pro-Am Tour is coming April 16-18th to Maryland Int’l Raceway with a double-header event full of Ironmans, cash and the Saturday night 5K ET Clash! It’s two full days of IHRA excitement for the sportsman racer – with a separate set of eliminations each day; plus a special Saturday night race for the high rollers. In Junior Dragster, each day guarantees a huge CASH winner payout of $1,000 (that’s right, no savings bonds) plus an IHRA Ironman Trophy!

We’re happy to announce that there will be no increase this season in spectator admission prices and/or racer entry fees. This includes event pricing in our Speed Unlimited Midnight Madness Series, MIR Test & Tunes, Speed Unlimited ET Series, all MIR specialty events as well as of our national touring association events.

"Pick me... PICK Me...PICK ME!" Just like the kids in the sandbox, it’s time for us to have some fun. On Saturday, May 1st, we're going to have our first ever Speed Unlimited ET Series Team Challenge to shizzle up the series. Teams will consist of eight members each and can be any combination of Top, Mod, Motorcycle or Junior Dragster racers. Once you have your team set, just pick a team name (one that can be said over the PA of course) and come up to the tower to register where you will be given decals to put on every car in your team.

The Speed Unlimited ET Series Motorcycle class is open to both dragbikes and streetbikes. This year however, there will no longer be any separation of the streetbikes and dragbikes in the lanes. We've had several dragbike teams express interest in coming back to rejoin the series.

The all-new Street Strip Test and Grudge Meets are scheduled on Friday nights of the larger two-day Saturday and Sunday races - plus all Sundays in March; and these meets are open to all street and strip cars/bikes. For the strip cars and bikes, this allows for parking and time trials on Friday nights. Midnight Madness racers are welcome to join the fun and make time/grudge runs of their own - with the only difference being there is no eliminations. These select meets also kick-off the new "One on One Grudge" sessions for our Midnight Madness. This will be a one round, head to head run for you to either "own" or "get owned by" your rival!

The 10K-2K Poker Bash on Saturday and Sunday, August 21-22 is an all new event that features a huge jackpot each day of $10,000 to win in Top ET plus $2,000 to win in Mod ET! This race will be run on the 1/8 mile and points will be in effect both days for Top, Mod and Junior (Motorcycle points are on Saturday only). In addition to the big bucks you can win on the track, we'll also have a fun $1,000 to win Poker Contest both days that anyone can enter for just $10 a hand (all racers will receive one free hand with their driver ticket)!

The Saturday ET schedule will remain the same as last year. It's been working very well and has helped reduce the amount of time a racer needs to be at the track to compete in his or her class. The day is divided into two groups; the first group will be Junior Dragster and Test & Tune, and the second group will be Top, Mod, Motorcycle ET and Test & Tune. Gates will open at 1:00 pm on weekly ET events that do not have a morning car club.

Qualifying for the IHRA Summit Division 1 Bracket Finals in 2010 will be an accomplishment. In a unanimous vote during last year’s bracket finals, IHRA and the track operators elected to cut back the team size for each attending track in Rockingham. This will not only make qualifying more prestigious, but with less cars at the event there's more time to finish the gamblers races, games and allow the finals themselves to be more manageable. This will create a much more enjoyable event for everyone!

MIR’s weekly purse payout in the Speed Unlimited ET Series features $2,000 to win in Top ET (with $50 round money), $1,000 to win in Mod ET (with $30 round money), plus GUARANTEED second round winner money in both Top & Mod ET. The ET racer has been an important part to the success of MIR and will always remain vital to its future. With great weekly payouts bundled into such an exciting series, MIR is the best place to race!

The 2010 Speed Unlimited ET Series starts with a double-header day featuring a special event called the “Pick Royce’s Pocket Challenge.” This is your chance to pick Royce’s pocket and win a free car and driver pass valid until mid-season! Here’s how it works! Simply enter and run both races on Saturday, April 3rd (points will be in effect both both for all classes).

Attention all Top ET drivers - mark your calendars for Friday & Saturday, May 14-15 for an awesome Mountain Motor Nationals. This event will feature a huge $5,000 to win payout each day Friday and Saturday. Purses on these races also includes round money at $100 per round starting with 2nd round winners! These two plus the 5K ET Clash (at the IHRA Pro Am) are the only 1/4 Top ET High Roller races for the 2010 season.

2010 marks the 20th anniversary year the Miller family has owned and operated Maryland Int'l Raceway. Royce Miller, President and Promoter of MIR, stated “In some ways it just doesn't seem possible that it's been 20 years and in others it is hard to remember a time without the responsibilities and pressures of running a facility like this. Our family has grown up here right beside the many wonderful families that race here. Ashley was just 5 years old when we arrived. My mother would keep an eye on her as she handed out time slips while Linda was working the gates way over on the spectator side entrance road. Jason was 14 and Chris was 12 when we started and they worked souvenirs, gates and selling fuel. We didn’t have much to work with in the way of equipment or facility when we started, but we had determination, enthusiasm and great racers, fans and sponsors to build the MIR of today. We have seen the kids of our racing families grow up and have kids of their own.

Maryland Int’l Raceway is all geared up for another exciting season in sport compact racing for 2010! You’ll find classes for all types of cars; from daily drivers to high-tech & high-revin’ turbocharged Extreme Sport Compacts. New this season, the NSCRA (National Sport Compact Racers Association) will be holding a 3-race Northeast points series - with all three events being held at Maryland Int'l Raceway!

Plan now to attend the Jimmy Jones Memorial $10K and commemorate as well as celebrate the life of Jimmy Jones. Take a shot at $10,000 CASH at this 1/8 mile event for Top ET only (there will be no other classes run that night). The gates will open at 12:00 noon, time runs will begin at 3:00 pm and eliminations will start at 7:00 pm. The Top ET car and driver entry fee is $160 (both first round and second round re-entry options are $100 each). Fund raisers will be held and a portion of every ticket sold will be donated to help Jimmy’s mother.

Drag racing fans, the contest is over and a winner is chosen. “1320 Pro Mod Warriors, Two Lanes of Thunder” submitted by Donna Micallef of Bay Shore, NY wins prizes that include a hospitality suite at one of the 2010 NEOPMA races at MIR in Mechanicsville, MD, a club Jacket, T-Shirts, and a guest of the NEOPMA for the day. “First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone who submitted their great entries. It was a tough decision. Although we will keep our association logo, the new title series name will help distinguish us as a premier quarter mile pro mod series.

Rick Norris of Rick’s Jewelers has again renewed the “Ring for the Queen” Challenge (one of MIR’s most unique and innovative programs) for another year! A certified full one-carat ladies diamond solitaire ring (with a retail value of $8,500) is once again up for grabs in the Speed Unlimited ET Series – which is open for any racer to win in Top, Mod, Junior or Motorcycle!

Maryland Int’l Raceway is pleased to announce the return of the “10 Ben Dash for Cash” sponsored by J&J Customs in Mechanicsville, MD (301)-373-3334. This program awards ten crisp Ben Franklin’s to the first driver in Junior Dragster that collects three diamond points in the 2010 season. The scoring method will be the same system that is used for the Rick’s Jewelers “Ring for the Queen” program; so each diamond point earned in Junior will be applied to both programs.

Maryland Int’l Raceway is available around the year for weekday testing (weather permitting of course). This is a very easy and affordable program available to racers looking for that extra edge they’re sure to get with private track time. Private test sessions are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm… 8 full hours of daylight fun! Your rental includes traction compound sprayed to the 60’ mark (additional spray can be purchased as far down the track as you need) as well as a certified Maryland EMT/Firefighter and ambulance.

Reserved pit parking spots are now available for the 2010 Speed Unlimited E.T. Series. All spot holders from the 2009 season will have until March 1, 2010 to renew. Maryland Int’l Raceway will continue to offer a discount of $ .50 per gallon on all 55-gallon drum purchases for the 2010 racing season (racer is required to supply their own drum). This discount will be valid for all grades of racing fuel (MS 103 Unleaded, 110, C12, C16) as well as racing alcohol.

The Computech Raider E.T. Challenge, returns in 2010 as most successful and prestigious E.T. series in the region. Plenty of cash, prizes and awards await the points victor in Top ET, Mod ET and Junior Dragster in this 8-race, all 1/8 mile series between Maryland Int’l Raceway, Virginia Motorsports Park and Richmond Dragway.
