New timeout settings
are now in effect for the 2008
season at Maryland Int’l Raceway to
come into conformity with current
IHRA standards. This comprehensive
change will affect all classes from
Junior Dragster to Frantic 7’s. The
Compulink AutoStart system is
integrated into every class run at
MIR; starting the tree automatically
when the system senses two fully
staged vehicles allowing the starter
to concentrate more on the track and
conditions of the race.
When the system sees both cars
prestaged and ONE of the cars
staged, it starts a timer. If the
second car does not enter the
staging beams within the timer's
parameters, a redlight is activated
for that car. This redlight will NOT
be negotiated under any
circumstance! Remember, the system
needs to see three lights before it
starts the timer - two prestages and
a stage.
Compulink AutoStart timeout
adjustments for the 2008 season at
MIR are as follows: In all of MIR’s
Bracket Classes (such as Top ET,
Modified ET, Streetbike ET, Test and
Tune, Pro Street, Super Street,
etc.), the previous timeout of :15
seconds is now officially :10
seconds. For the Junior Dragster
class, the previous timeout of :20
seconds is now officially :15
seconds. Finally, in all of MIR’s
Pro Tree Classes (such as Frantic 7,
Real Street, Outlaw Street, etc.),
the previous timeout of :10 seconds
is now officially :7 seconds. A
printable index of all of MIR’s new
AutoStart settings is now available
at www.mirdrag.com under “Class
Rules”.
