Raceway has one of the best weekly
Junior Dragster programs in the
country with some of the greatest
junior racers and families! Everyone
is very pleased with the weekly
schedule; so we plan to run the same
for the 2008 season. Junior Dragster
and any early Test & Tune cars will
start off the day with time trials
beginning at 2:00 pm. Junior
Dragster eliminations will follow at
3:30 pm. There will be two rounds of
Juniors before we start time runs
for all other ET classes at 4:30 pm.
We will then finish Junior Dragster
in between classes; with completion
of their finals around 6:00 pm.
Each weekly Junior Dragster winner
is awarded a $200 savings bond plus
a trophy! The runner-up is awarded a
$100 savings bond plus a trophy.
Lastly, each semi-finalist will
receive a $50 savings bond! As
always, second round winners are
given a trophy when they bring their
timeslip to Race Control after that
round.
The top ten in points will all
receive plaques and savings bonds at
the MIR Awards Banquet in February.
The driver in first place will
receive a $500 bond, FREE car &
driver entry for 2009, a reserved
parking spot plus a championship
trophy and recognition at the MIR
Awards Banquet! The 2nd place driver
will get a $200 bond and 3rd through
10th place will all receive a $100
bond.
The Saturday, May 10th Junior
Dragster Open (featuring a $1,000
savings bond to the winner) will
also have our normal weekly program;
giving the Juniors their own
“Double-Header Day”! Also be sure to
check out the Computech Raider E.T.
Challenge Series (run at both MIR
and VMP), which is an eight-race
series that awards a $1,000 savings
bond to win at each race plus a
chance to win a championship gold
ring and a major sponsorship for
your car! Don’t forget to mark down
in your calendars the 12th annual
IHRA Eastern Junior Dragster
Nationals on Sat. & Sun., August
2-3rd - one of the longest running
IHRA Junior Dragster National events
in the country! Last but certainly
not least, the Summit Team Finals
held at Rockingham Dragway on
October 24-26th will now include 10
Junior Dragsters representing Team
MIR (the top 9 in points plus the
Junior Dragster WildCard winner).
