New ET Points Tie Breaker System Eliminates the Need for Runoffs

On Friday, March 14th, a convenient tie-breaker system was introduced into the Speed Unlimited ET Series program. This approach will eliminate the need for runoffs in the event of a tie in the top ten on the final day of points for the season on Sunday, October 19th at the Computech Raider ET Challenge. It works by assigning an extra 1/2 point to the earning driver of the tied pair; and since the tie-breaker only awards 1/2 point, it will not influence position of other drivers in the top ten. The tie-breaker system will also be used in the event of a tie on last day of qualifying for the Summit Team Finals (Saturday, October 11th).
