The 2013 MIR Season Schedule has an
exciting lineup of popular events as
well as new and expanded races.
"You’ll see the return of MIR’s
legendary special events including
the Mountain Motor Nationals, Jet
Wars, Legends, SuperChargers
Showdown and the World Cup Finals,”
stated Royce Miller, Promoter and
President of Maryland Int’l Raceway.
“This year’s schedule is again all
about our racers and fans. We have
kept and expanded the best events on
our schedule for the fans. Also, we
now have four races in the Dash
Playoffs for the Speed Unlimited ET
Series Championships, including a
special 2-day season finale. MIR’s
Speed Unlimited ET Series is the
most successful, well-attended ET
series in the region, if not in the
country. Our mission, as always, is
to give our racers and fans the best
events and racer programs ever at
MIR.”
The special event kickoff for the
2013 season will be the Door Wars on
April 19-21. The event has been
extended to a 3-day event and will
feature Pro Mods from the 1320 Pro
Mod Warriors plus the Outlaw 10.5,
Outlaw Drag Radial, X275, Ultra
Street, a big buck Top Sportsman
race, Index classes and a special
12.99 and quicker all door car
Footbrake race and much more.
The all new X-treme Drag Racing
League series (X-DRL) on Friday and
Saturday, July 26-27th will be an
exciting addition to the MIR special
event line up. The all new XDRL
series will feature 9 classes of
competition including Pro X-treme,
Pro Nitrous, X-treme Pro Stock, Pro
Turbo, X-treme Pro Mod, Top
Dragster, Top Sportsman, Pro Junior
Dragster and Supercar Showdown. See
the best doorslammers in the country
qualifying under the lights on
Friday night and Saturday afternoon
with eliminations on Saturday night.
The NMRA Ford Nationals is back for
its 13th annual event on May 3-5.
This event features heads-up
classes, Open Comp, E.T. brackets
and more. New for 2013, the NMRA
will run all the ET classes with the
same purses and entry fees as the
popular Ford Fever Classic event
does in October each year. With the
continuation of the NMRA Ford
Nationals in the spring to our huge
fall Ford Fever Classic, Ford racers
and fans will have a lot to cheer
about at MIR. So fans and racers -
mark this one on your calendars.
Again this year, two of MIR’s
legendary special events will be
elevated to true National Event
Status! The Mountain Motor Nationals
on May 10-11 and the SuperChargers
Showdown on September 20-21 will
become the "Pomonas" of MIR. Both
will be Friday and Saturday events
that will anchor the professional
class-racing season at MIR. Both
will also feature $5,000 to win Top
ET races each day. These events will
host the top teams in Pro Stock and
Pro Mods on the full 1/4 mile and
will receive the most media and
press attention anywhere. With
spring and fall temperatures coupled
with the famous MIR prepped 1/4
mile, the records won’t stand a
chance.
We always save the best for last,
and the 18th annual World Cup Finals
(Import vs Domestic) event
delivers...every single year! The
three day WCF event will be held on
November 1-3, and draws cars from
NMCA, NMRA, LSX Shootouts, Buick GN
Shootouts, IREV, Pan-American
Nationals, and other series and
events every year. At WCF, fans get
to see it all, every possible kind
of car in existence all in one spot
competing for over $50,000 in cash
purse. Adding to that excitement is
the famous bikini contest, a huge
custom car show, a vendor midway,
music, DJ’s and more. Every year
over 500 car show enthusiasts, 500
racers and more than 20,000 fans
pour into this one of a kind event
making it the biggest and best on

Along with the new XDRL and expanded
Door Wars, the 2013 schedule also
includes NMRA Ford Nationals, MIR’s
signature special events like the
Legendary Mountain Motor Nationals,
Legends at Budds Creek, Jet Wars,
SuperChargers Showdown, Ford Fever
Classic, and the World Cup Finals.
Also returning is the Fast by Gast
MIROCK Superbike Series (featuring
four events), the Autofab Raider ET
Challenge, two I-Rev events, IHRA
Pro Am Tour, Big Rig Truck
Nationals, IHRA Junior Dragster Team
Finals, Custom T’s Doorslammer
Nationals & Custom T's Afterdark
Underground, QuarterMasters'
Challenge and the Mopar Eastern
Classic. There will also be three
War on Wheels and two MIR
Performance Swap Meets (both Spring
and Fall).
MIR has some of the best racers in
the country; and we have some of the
best programs to match. “The Dash”
for the Speed Unlimited ET Series
Championship was very well received
and made for some exciting racing
for the championships. This series
will now have a four race run-off
for 2013. The Top ET $5K
Double-Header is now a $5K "Triple"
Header with two $5,000 to win races
on Friday and one on Sunday. Also,
there's $5,000 to win on Friday and
Saturday of both the Mountain Motor
Nationals and the SuperChargers
Showdown, two $5,000 to win races at
each Autofab Raider ET Challenge
event and $10,000 up for grabs each
day at the $10K - $2K Poker Bash.
Rounding out the 108 race day season
is the ever-popular Speed Unlimited
Midnight Madness series and the MIR
Test & Tunes.
