"The
Dash" Speed Unlimited ET Series
Championships Playoff format is
exciting and well received. It will
remain the championship format at
MIR for many years to come. To
qualify for the playoffs, a racer
must finish in the top 10 in points
in their respective class. Each of
the top 10 qualifiers will then go
into a 4-race Playoff for their
class championship.
“The Dash” will be run very similar
to NHRA’s Countdown with points
earned through the regular season of
April to September to try to qualify
for a Top 10 finish and a spot in
"The Dash" Speed Unlimited
Championship Playoffs. To qualify
for “The Dash Playoffs”, all a racer
needs to do is finish in the top 10
in points in Top, Mod, Jr. Dragster
or Motorcycle. Top and Mod racers
have TWO opportunities to qualify in
the Top 10 because the 1/4 mile
races and the 1/8 mile races are two
separate points programs.
Once all of the Top 10’s have been
set at the end of September, “The
DASH” Speed Unlimited ET Series
Championship Playoffs will then take
place. Points will reset according
to your finish (see below) and the 4
remaining 1/8 mile ET races in
September and October will be The
Dash Playoffs.
Again this year, enrollment into the
points program for all racers is
absolutely FREE! On your first race
of the year, simply register your
number in the tower before going to
tech. You will receive a number
registration card and you are set in
the points.
When you take into consideration
that many tracks are simply cutting
back and/or eliminating their ET
programs altogether, we take pride
in our effort and commitment to
continue improving and expanding
what is already considered one of
the best ET programs in the country!

If a race is rained
out and rescheduled,
the Playoff points
would continue on
the rescheduled
date. If a rained
out race is not
rescheduled, the
Playoffs would be
shortened to just
the completed races.

Example: In Top and Mod
ET, both the 1/4 mile
and 1/8 mile first place
finishers will start the
Playoffs with 1,070
points each. Both the
2nd place finishers will
start with 1,050 points
and so on through the
Top Ten. If a racer
qualified the same
number in both 1/4 and
1/8 points, he would
start the Playoffs with
the higher points
position. The other
position would remain
empty - helping his
chances to a
championship by
eliminating a racer from
the playoffs. If a racer
drives and qualifies 2
separate cars on both
the 1/8 and 1/4 mile, he
would start the Playoffs
with the highest finish
with each number. In the
event of any ties the ET
Series tiebreaker system
would be used to
determine winner or
higher position. |
